A SECRET RECIPE
THAT NO ONE KNOWS, BUT EVERYONE LOVES
FOR ALMOST 60 YEARS

1965

Back in 1965 Michail Kokolakis begins running a café-pastry shop, given the name Gloria, exactly at the same spot as today, at 3 Pines area, on Chrisostomou street. It is one of the first cafes in the area and the only one equipped with TV at that period!

Gloria is getting well known and starts having a large audience.

1983

In 1983, he and his wife, Argiro, decide to give their place a dessert making character rather than a café. They both devote themselves in the daily production of pastries made from fresh dairy products and high quality, local ingredients.

2000

In a few years, the shop becomes among the most successful in the city and galaktoboureko becomes customers’ favorite. Galaktoboureko is based on Argiro’s original recipe, reaching its final form after many, over 4 years lasting, alterations and additions. Since 2000, while Galaktoboureko becomes its characteristic element, several collaborations with executive Greek pastry chefs begin, in order to maintain quality and enhance variety and engage the interest of new customers, as a sweet flagship of the brand.

2016

In 2016, Gloria Suffer its founder loss, though leaving behind a gold legacy that Kokolakis family is sustaining and growing until today.

2018

In 2018, Gloria opens its second shop, as a part of a franchise collaboration, at the historical Lions Square, in the heart of Heraklion city. Our brand is now connected tightly with the ‘sweet’ part of Cretan History.

2022

There is no secret recipe. Our recipe of success is the high quality, the excellent raw materials and the respect to customers high expectations. Our product range consists of more than 150 desserts and pastries handmade from the best quality ingredients, without preservatives. Each one from our sweet creations has story of its own!
